Electrical Stimulation
Electrical stimulation is a modality which utilizes electrical impulses to stimulate nerve receptors.
Electrical energy is applied to the system via electrodes to reduce edema and inflammatory reactions, aid in the healing of wounds and ulcers, improve the way motor nerves recruit muscle fibers to build strength and coordination, improve circulatory impairments to normalize sensation in an area, and reduce pain associated with an injury.
