Muscle Strains

Muscle strains typically occur when a muscle is stretched beyond its limit, which happens when undue pressure is applied to a muscle during a sudden, quick movement, during sports, normal daily activities, or while performing task at work.

Stains frequently occur at the musculotendonis junctions (the point where the muscle joins the fibrous connective tissue of the tendon). There is often visible bruising and tenderness to touch at the point of muscle tear.

Muscle strains are graded on a 1-3 level with 1 being a mild tear and 3 being severe tear.
